The initial object of the project was to reconstruct the three-storey prestressed warehouse C8-9-10 to handle – store conventional cargo. Considering though the rapid developments in the handling of goods vehicles (import and mainly TRANSIT) which over the last three years has doubled (from 335,000 vehicles in 2003 to 618,800 vehicles in 2007) and the decline in the handling of conventional cargo, and following reexamination of the matter by the management of OLP SA, it was decided to demolish the prestressed warehouse C8-9-10 and make the space available for roads and traffic services for vehicles transporting containers by making the required alterations (floors, markings, signs, fencing, cables, etc).
