The object of the project is to redevelop and improve the electromechanical installations in buildings in the University of Piraeus and all necessary work for the biennial building maintenance in the University and all its facilities, along with interior redevelopment, local extensions and interventions in the area surrounding the buildings, whilst ensuring their smooth operation.

The afore-mentioned maintenance work and other work on the buildings in the University of Piraeus and its surrounding areas include building and electromechanical work is as follows:

a) Work on electric panels

Replacement of old electric panels and installation of new panels in various sizes.

b) Lighting work

Replacement of lighting with fluorescent lights.

Installation of safety lighting in all offices.

Installation of motion detector lights in all communal areas.

c) Weak currents

Replacement of conventional central fire detection board with a new improved board.

Installation of a local alarm board in Computer Centre.

Work on fire protection system and on the buildings’ alarm systems.

d) Air-conditioning

Replacement of automatic control systems for air-conditioning units.

Study and installation of a dual mode air-conditioning unit in the Computer labs.

e) Construction work

Building work including all maintenance, regular inspections, interventions and replacements in various parts of the buildings, such as teaching rooms, communal areas, washrooms, offices, laboratories and roofs. Also general auxiliary work and building work in areas surrounding the buildings.

f) Electromechanical work

Work including all maintenance, inspections, interventions and replacements of all types of items, as well as the repair of emergency faults in the electrical and mechanical installations in various parts of the buildings, such as teaching rooms, communal areas, washrooms, offices and laboratories. Also maintenance work in electromechanical installations in the area surrounding the buildings.
