This project involves creating a network of bicycle lanes in the town of Kifissia, as an extension to the corresponding network being created in cooperation with municipalities in North-eastern Attica. This network consists of two routes within the town, and more specifically:

Α) A route linking Nea Erythraia (site of future ISAP Nea Erythraia station) to Kifissia Park (ISAP Kifissia station).

Β) A route linking Kifissia Park (ISAP Kifissia station) to the shopping centre in the Municipality of Kifissia and then to the Municipality of Melissia.

The bicycle lanes are at pavement level with a width of 2 metres and construction includes the following work:

• Placement of a kerb on the side towards the road.

• a solid concrete subbase and a special coloured coating for bicycle lanes consisting of coloured epoxy resin with three constituents and inert granite.

• construction of a gutter with a grid for water drainage at the point where the existing pavement meets the new bicycle lane, along sections of the bicycle lanes.

• installation of columns on the side towards the road at intervals of 1.5m (free length), all along the bicycle lane.

• formation of crossings and special ramps to generally improve road safety for pedestrians, cyclists and disabled persons.

• vertical signs on streets where bicycle lanes are to be constructed and bicycle stamp (bicycle lane sign) at the beginning and end of each urban block.
