This contract work concerns improving the link between Andreas Papandreou Avenue and the port of Piraeus with the opening of a section on its axis and was carried out under conditions of high traffic load throughout construction. More specifically, the project included demolition, the construction of flyovers, opening up new roads and reconstructing existing ones. An important part of the project was the construction of a new branch of the descent to an existing bridge. New stormwater runoff and irrigation networks were constructed, landscaping was carried out, new traffic signs were installed, along with lighting and illuminated road signs at intersections. The main quantities involved in this project were 61,000 m3 of demolition products, 76,000 m2 of road surfacing, 108,000 m2 of asphalt and 6,000 m3 of concrete.
